Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you (the business using PlatePages) and Kaklottar Maulik, a sole trader based in India, who runs PlatePages (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What we provide

PlatePages gives your café, restaurant or other food business a website, an online menu you can edit, and QR codes that link to it. We host it, keep it secure and back it up.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and allowed to act for the business you sign up. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no payment details needed. At the end of the trial your site switches to a plain text menu until you pay. We may end trials that break these terms.

4. Payment, renewal and cancellation

Your plan is paid yearly, in advance. It renews every year at the price shown when you bought it, unless you cancel. We will email you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; your site stays online until the end of the period you paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries about payments and handles returns. Prices are shown in your local currency where available, and taxes are handled where required.

If a renewal payment fails, your site keeps working for 14 days while you update your card. After that it switches to a plain text menu until payment is made.

6. Your content

You own everything you add: your menu, prices, photos, text and logo. You give us permission to host and display it so the service works. You are responsible for your content being accurate and lawful, including prices, allergen and dietary information, and for having the rights to any photos you upload. Allergen information on your site is provided by you; we don't check it.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use PlatePages for anything illegal, misleading or harmful: for example phishing, collecting passwords or payment details, malware, spam, content you don't have rights to, or pretending to be another business. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do this, without notice where needed to protect others.

8. QR codes and your address

Your QR codes point to our domain (platepages.com) so they keep working when your menu changes. If your plan ends, they show a plain version of your menu. Your site address (for example yourcafe.platepages.com) is provided while you use the service. If you connect your own domain, you remain responsible for that domain and its renewal.

9. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep PlatePages online and fast, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, you can ask for a pro-rata refund for the unused time.

10. Ending the service

You can stop using PlatePages and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the service for your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we ever shut PlatePages down, we will give you at least 60 days' notice, an export of your menu, and a pro-rata refund of prepaid time.

11. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will email you at least 30 days before it applies. Continuing to use PlatePages after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. This does not take away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
